I created pins with images of fried eggs and wore one on each breast after Sarah Lucas’ “Self Portrait with Fried Eggs”. I wore the pins to a party and had my sister arrive an hour later wearing the same pins, forcing unknowing party goers to engage with our sexuality and gender stereotypes.
A collaborative cookbook illustrated by my 10 year old cousin. The Mennonite Treasury of Recipes cookbook describes old and absurd recipes with no images to help describe the desired outcome. I was interested in exploring my unfamiliar, or lack of relationship to my family’s mennonite background. I did this by inviting my ten year old cousin to interpret what these recipes might look like.
I prentended to be a bridesmaid shopping for a gown. I invented a wedding, a bride, and fake requirements for my dress. I was waited on, measured and fitted, and filled out a customer file with the boutique.
